Mr. Lester St Laurent, brings with him passion and a wealth of experience in the oil and gas industry ignited from his formative years working in the family owned and operated business, Trinidad Gulf Drilling.
After completing his studies in Instrumentation Craft at the San Fernando Technical Institute, he furthered his studies at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, where he specialized in the field of electronics. Upon completion, he was employed by Canadian Gas Association (CGA) which eventually merged with American Gas Association (AGA), to form International Approvals Services.
His experience ranged from gas chromatography to electrical calibration. TRICAN was formed in 1993 as a side project which dealt primarily in-home automation and the installation of audio equipment. Lester is the holder of a commercial pilot’s license and is currently flying commercially.
CALIBRATION LAB MANAGER
Calibration Lab Manager, Mr. Gerome Bhola, brings to TRICAN Calibration Solutions Limited, 30+ years of experience in the electrical/ electronic field. His experiences traverse the industrial, process, production, private, instrument, support services, laboratories, bio-medical, metrology and calibration sectors in the electrical, electronics and instrumentation disciplines.
He has been trained locally and abroad (US and Europe) in a number of specialized areas as an electronic technician. Gerome is among the elite group of professionals in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean with certificate training in the following: Calibration Laboratory Management, Principles of Metrology, Precision Pressure Metrology, Temperature and IR (infrared) Metrology and others, with a direct relationship to Calibrations. Calibration and Metrology has been his main focus over the last eighteen (18) years.
Because of his intensive training and experience, he has been chosen to set-up and head the Metrology/Calibration Department with overlapping duties in the Quality Assurance Department of TRICAN. He has also been trained in various aspects of ISO accreditation and has over 8 (eight) years of experience in setting up the necessary documentation, systems and procedures, also being a team leader for the acquisition of ISO 17025 accreditation for a calibration lab. He has also been instrumental in training other technicians in the field of calibrations with the emphasis on metrology.
It is this wealth of training and experience that has earned him the respect and confidence of the stake holders in this field. Wherever possible, he endeavors to provide support and advice to all that require it, on a personal as well as a professional level which translates into an enhanced service provided by TRICAN Calibration Solutions Limited.
